Our Vintage Adventure, an afternoon full of activities for the young at heart, returns on 19th September.
Introducing our Superintendent Minister, Revd Rachel Borgars
Rachel took up her appointment in the Circuit in September 2016, having served for the previous fourteen years in Keynsham and latterly, with Nexus Methodist Church in Bath together with Bathampton and Box (Wiltshire). She trained for the ministry at the South East Institute for Theological Education on a part-time course.
As well as being the Superintendent Minister, she is also the minister in pastoral charge at Kingsclere, Newbury, Thatcham and Whitchurch.
A native of Huddersfield and proud of her northern roots, Rachel studied European Studies and French at the University of Kent at Canterbury and also met her husband, Martin, to whom she has been married for nearly forty years. Prior to entering full-time ministry, Rachel worked for the Home Office in London in a variety of roles, which has provided some vital training in 'people skills' which she has made good use of as a presbyter.
The Borgars family is completed by an adult son, Chris, who has moved to Whitchurch with the family. Away from work, Rachel enjoys music, family history and supporting Bath Rugby.

Our mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ through our witness, our worship and by our practical expression of His love within the community and the world in which we serve. We seek to fulfil this mission through:
- Various expressions of worship open to our community - alongside traditional styles of worship we offer alternative forms, such as a bi-monthly, family-centred mix of worship, music and craft activities (Saturday Shift) and a monthly gathering of a more social nature involving guest speakers (Cafe Church);
- Learning and Caring, through small group meetigs for Bible Study, prayer, social events and discussion;
- Service, by being a viable presence in our community, supporting people of all ages including young families and young people by providing a safe place for them to grow through our Carer and Toddler Group (The Well);
- Evangelism, through working out our faith in our daily lives and supporting the outreach and social projects of this church, Churches Together in Thatcham, and the Circuit.
